A Workshop On Artificial Intelligence
On the 27th of September 2025, a delegation of students and staff from Loyola attended an enlightening workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) organized by the Weledi Africa AI Master Class. This event gathered a diverse group of participants, eager to explore the expanding realm of AI and its potential applications across various fields. The workshop was designed not only to introduce the concepts of AI to newcomers but also to delve into advanced topics for those already familiar with the subject.

The day commenced with an inspiring keynote address delivered by Mr. Jumanne Mtambarike, a distinguished alumnus of Loyola High School and a notable figure in the AI community. He highlighted the transformative power of artificial intelligence in contemporary society, illustrating how this technology has progressed over the years. Mr. Mtambarike examined its implications across various sectors, such as healthcare, education, and business. Attendees were invited to critically assess both the opportunities that AI presents as well as the challenges that accompany its integration into everyday life.

One of the highlights of the workshop was a hands-on session that allowed participants to work with AI tools and platforms. This practical experience allowed Loyola’s delegation to experiment with machine learning models and understand the complexities involved in training and deploying AI applications.
