Business Studies

This is one of the departments at Loyola High School. It was inaugurated in 1995 immediately after the school took off.Since then, the department is undergoing structural changes in line with changes in education system in the country and within Loyola High school.

The general purpose is to offer quality business education to students who take business studies so that they will be able to practice it in their different careers after studies at Loyola. Specific purposes include but not only limited to offer commercial knowledge to all form 1 and form 2 on compulsory basis. This basic knowledge falls in line with the belief that all people in their different careers need to exchange what they have with something which they do not have, therefore, exchange is part and parcel of life and it is the fundamental of commercial studies. Also to lay a firm foundation to students who wish to pursue higher courses in economics and business studies preparatory to either hold key positions related to commercial knowledge in fields of banking, finance, investment, consultancy, trade and so on, or become successful entrepreneurs, investors and managers of their own businesses.

The Department of Economics and Business Studies observes the national syllabus learning outlines plus the Loyola system. However, due to multivariate of skills required the department uses its other special approaches to make sure that beneficiaries develop both practical and theoretical competences in their studies.

The department is fully equipped with all reference materials like books, pamphlets, business journals and several other publications. It is also manned by sufficient, competent and visionary teachers. It has a good mix up of long term and new staff members.
